Labor Law

Our labor law practice is led by attorney Rocky Chrastil, an experienced litigator who has been practicing law for more than 30 years. Mr. Chrastil began his career representing and counseling management in Chicago for employers such as the City of Chicago Police and Fire Departments, the Chicago Transit Authority and Continental Baking Company.

During this time, Rocky was actively involved in a historic interest arbitration that finalized the terms of the first collective bargaining agreement between the City of Chicago and the Chicago Firefighters Union. In addition, he personally handled and successfully tried dozens of grievance arbitration cases for the City of Chicago, as well as for Continental Baking Company and its bakeries (Hostess and Wonderbread), from Dallas to Minneapolis.

Since moving to Minneapolis in 1983 and establishing the law firm of Chrastil and Steinberg, P.L.L.P., he has dedicated his practice primarily to representing unions and employees. For the past 25 years, he has been counsel for a large local union, providing guidance in all areas and representing them in grievance arbitrations, federal court cases and matters before administrative agencies.
